Astor Piazzolla, dedicated to his father ( few days after his death), a tango titled Adios Nonino. Nonino (grandad), was the tender nickname Astor used to address Vicente, his father. Composed in 1959 in New York, this work is still considered as one of the most representative of the Argentinian composer. During an interview in 1990 Piazzolla himself affirmed that “Adios Nonino” is his tango n.1. And that he tried several times to overtake it , without success.
